How to Use Midjourney on Discord
Although you can enter prompts directly on the Midjourney website, I personally prefer using Discord. This quick guide will show you how to use Midjourney on Discord, so you can enjoy a smooth workflow and create stunning artwork!
Step 1: Join the official Midjourney Discord server by visiting discord.gg/midjourney.
Step 2: Create your own Discord server to write and organize your prompts privately.
- Click the + button on the left sidebar in Discord.
- Select Create My Own.
- Choose For me and my friends.
- Give your server a name (e.g., ´My Midjourney´) and click Create. Your new server will appear in the sidebar.

Step 3: Invite the Midjourney Bot to you server.
- In the official Midjourney Discord server, locate the Midjourney Bot in the member list on the right sidebar.
- Click the Midjourney bot’s name and select + Add App.
- Next, choose Add to Server. Select your newly created server from the dropdown menu. The Midjourney Bot will now be available in your server, ready for the next step: writing amazing prompts!

Step 4: Writing prompts!
- Type
/imagine
in the chat and press Space. This will activate the prompt input box. - Enter your text prompt after
/imagine
. For example:a fantasy character --sref 2882041545
- Press Enter to submit your prompt. And that’s it! You’re now creating stunning artwork directly in your private Discord server. All images you generate on Discord will also be available in the Organize section of the Midjourney website.
